We’re not quite sure if we’ve come back down to earth yet from the complete high of the quartet competition in Telford!! THE MIX are SO proud and feel very privileged to be crowned as your 2012 LABBS Champion Quartet. We worked very hard as a four after prelims and so were especially over the moon to score 79.4 overall (and 80 for the finals)!
Firstly we’d like to congratulate our fellow medallists Jiggle and JAZZmine for their Silver and Bronze successes, to Miss-Demeanour in becoming QC’s Champions and indeed every quartet who took to the stage in Telford. It’s so wonderful to see LABBS Quartet activity on the increase, with standards raising higher and higher, and it’s so great to be a part of that as your new Champions.
As many of you already know, for Nancy, Sandra and Jo, becoming a LABBS Quartet Champion isn’t a first, but for our lovely tenor Andrea it is, and we know that she will enjoy this experience and represent all you quartet tenors out there in true championship style!
We don’t want this to sound like an ‘Oscar’s ceremony’, but we would like to share some public thank you’s, so if we could just indulge in a moment of your reading time to thank some important people from THE MIX.
Firstly to our choruses, Heartbeat and Cheshire Chord Company. Ladies, you are a huge support to us as individuals and as a quartet. Right from the outset you encouraged us with your comments and good wishes and have continued to do so in our very exciting journey, thank you to you all.
To Dale Kynaston, who shared with us his unique brand of wonderful coaching, and really helped us in taking our songs to another level, thanks Dale!
To Veryan, Gemma, Sarah & Ellie – Fortuity, for the most special QC’s party you threw following the results. It was lovely to share that ‘high’ with you, our fellow QC’s and friends and family. Your gifts to us as individuals were beautiful, as was the goody bag of M&S sandwiches and treats, which believe us, were well received by midnight on Friday night at Convention! Well done on your performances over the weekend, you worked so hard and always remained the calm, cool beautiful ladies that you are.
But our most important thanks must go to Simon, Tim, Tony and Will, and of course our lovely families and friends for supporting and letting us do this, we couldn’t do it without you and love you all dearly for encouraging us and sharing in this experience. Hold on boys and girls and get ready for the ride!
So, where do we go from here? Well you’ll be pleased to hear that we have accepted our invitation to compete at the European Convention, Veldhoven in March 2013, and also to appear at our brother organisation BABS Convention in May. We will represent LABBS and dazzle ’em in true style (or Razzle Dazzle ’em) and hope to see many of you at both events.
The diary for 2013 is now open, and we would love to offer our services as guests on your club show or indeed as part of any event you may be planning. Please contact us if you are interested, we’d love to come and share our special brand of entertainment.
